Sign up for membership during SOD's first year and forever be able to claim that you are a charter member of The Society of Design.
Membership in The Society of Design helps to fund the organization's ongoing events, exhibits, and community service efforts.
Members must agree to volunteer a minimum of 10 hours of community service each year. It will be at each individual member's discretion how he/she chooses to meet the volunteer service requirement - it can be done independent of SOD initiatives. However, SOD will offer several opportunities to members to fulfill this aspect of membership. There is no specific reporting method; hours volunteered are done so on the honor system. The Society of Design will attract members who will welcome such a requirement.
Your membership commitment to SOD will be rewarded in the following ways:
- FREE admission to speakers series events
- Member rate for SOD-sponsored trips and museum visits
- Special edition SOD poster from Hatch Show Print
A commemorative poster is being designed and printed by Hatch Show Print exclusively for SOD members. The posters will arrive sometime before the Design Army event on 11/19/09. Posters will be able to be picked up at speaker series events or, if you can't make the event or simply can't wait to get your hands on the poster, the poster can be mailed for an additional cost of shipping (no handling fees).
- Opportunity to participate in SOD-sponsored exhibits
Each year SOD will conduct public exhibitions of design work produced by its members. The first year's exhibits, "Donate" and "Keys," are sure to be of strong interest to students and professionals alike. Please note: each exhibit will have its own set of requirements for participation.

Faculty: $50 per year (requires ID; full-time only)
Student: $30 per year (requires ID; proof of enrollment)
